The Ebay Pirate Sold by the Swedish software company
We had to check the date on the history, on Techcrunch this morning that essentially found that the Swedish software company Global Gaming Factory X pirate Ebay bought for 60 million Swedish crowns. It is rare that sites like The Pirate receive purchased from Ebay, they usually no longer to exist, either by pressure or by legal closed by administrators.
The two main issues at the moment for the millions of users who pirate the Ebay are these: Who are Global Gaming Factory X and what are their intentions with the site. According to the company website “Global Gaming Factory X AB is the largest network of Internet cafes and gaming centers in the world and offers advertisers, publishers and software providers with an unprecedented access to the large group of tourists and great player community, visit these centers. ”
Neither the owner nor the new Ebay Pirate administrators revealed much about the changes that have to happen on the website and business model. The outlook can be found only in the full press release:
“We want the models with content providers and copyright holders paying for content, through the website.”
Payment of the copyright owner, for content that is on the website (which really only torrent files and not the copyrighted content) may mean different things. You can buy advertising revenue with the copyright holders, which would probably be the only model that the revenues no major impact on visitor numbers. It would certainly be different if the role of a subscription-based model.
We keep you informed how things are from here. If you have any thoughts on this subject, a comment so that we can discuss the matter.
